Through the scientific understanding of human anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics, our Minor in Human Movement positions students to explore a variety of methods used to assess and maintain healthy movement and prevent disability.

By pursuing a Minor in Human Movement, you’ll gain a strong foundational understanding of normal human movement as compared to pathological movement across the lifespan. Courses will allow you to develop the early thought processes and disciplinary content necessary for careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, prosthetics and orthotics, biomechanics and kinesiology. This minor serves as an excellent on-ramp to many healthcare career pathways.

Outcomes:

  1. Apply medical knowledge to common and typical scenarios to guide patient care

  2. Describe scientific knowledge for general and pathologic human movement

  3. Describe basic human movement across the lifespan

  4. Describe basic anatomy of the peripheral nervous system

  5. Correlate under guidance the clinical presentation with basic anatomy and pathophysiology of movement disorders

The minor in Human Movement requires a minimum of 18 credits for completion.
